Humanitarian Efforts for Israel

In this time of strife we are all feeling helpless and unsure of what actions to take to help.  To that end, NAC Have a Heart Foundation has vetted an avenue for you to support with the knowledge that your funds will be properly handled and fully utilized for the purposes intended.

United Hatzalah is launching an emergency appeal to raise funds for desperately needed supplies to provide their volunteers with the equipment they need to save lives and the protective equipment to keep themselves safe. The goal of the campaign is to raise $20 million to equip an additional 1,000 United Hatzalah volunteers with protective vests and helmets, oxygen tanks, defibrillators, trauma bandages, and tourniquets. These supplies can be ordered and delivered over the course of the next week(s) to ensure that UH volunteers have everything they need to respond to the ongoing attacks. Their medics are on the front line and in need of support and reinforcements as they respond to lifesaving calls. The time is now. Your support is critical to ensure the safety of their volunteers and the people of Israel.

Thank you to Jeff Bartos

When choosing United Hatzalah to be the recipient of these funds we did out homework but must give credit to our friend and colleague, Jeff Bartos.  If that name sounds familiar that is because Jeff is a well known lawyer, real estate developer and energy efficiency consultant in Pennsylvania as well as throughout the region and nation.  He has developed countless projects which have been successful at creating jobs and supporting the economy.  He has also served his country by running for political office as high as the U S Senate.  In addition, Jeff has family and friends in the affected war torn region and many contacts who were able to advise him on which groups would be trustworthy and effective in doing the most good with your donation dollars.

We are grateful to Jeff for advising us and we have the utmost confidence that this group will receive the funds in a timely and effective fashion.

Please make your donation here.  Please enter “Israel” in the event box on the donation form.  Thank you for your kind and generous support.

About the mission

United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer emergency medical service (EMS) organization that provides the fastest emergency medical service throughout Israel, and they do it completely free of charge. Their goal is to provide immediate lifesaving medical intervention during the critical window between the onset of an emergency and the arrival of traditional ambulance assistance. United Hatzalah’s services are available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. They have a network of more than 6,500 volunteers across the country, available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – who respond to more than 2,000 emergencies each day. With the help of their innovative GPS-based technology and their iconic ambucycles, they have cut down emergency medical response time in Israel to less than 3 minutes, and in many metropolitan areas, less than 90 seconds.

Their volunteers consist of ordinary citizens who have received full training and become certified first responders, enabling them to administer lifesaving treatment to anyone suffering a medical emergency in their vicinity, including but not limited to their co-workers, neighbors, family members, and also total strangers. When an emergency occurs, every second matters and their selfless volunteers drop whatever they are doing and respond to the emergency in an effort to save lives.

Last year, their highly trained and fully equipped volunteers treated over 675,000 people, and they have treated more than 5,500,000 people since their inception in 2006.
